People laughing, a circle of dancing, and eating on decorated tables. All of these things would be found Thursday night in the Waukee High School commons. OktoberFest celebrates German culture with active games and activities.

In the cafeteria on Thursday October 5th there was german cakes, bratwursts and other dishes that play a significant role in Germany’s culture. In the commons, there were several adults teaching a range of ages the style of dance cultivated by Germany. The Iowa Polk County Association produced OktoberFest along with the help of several Waukee teachers and students.

It is very important that the Waukee ( and surrounding ) communities take place in these open services. Developing more relations within the community means more collaboration on current situations within the area.
